Lisa Rosenmerkel was sworn in as chief data officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs after more than a year of holding the post on an acting basis.
Rosenmerkel made the announcement via LinkedIn post, through which she also expressed intent to continue working with VA employees to support veterans.
“Since my arrival at VA in 2022, I have seen great strides in our use of data to analyze complex issues and to enable evidence-based decisions to improve Veteran outcomes while prioritizing privacy and data security,” said Rosenmerkel. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to further these efforts with partners throughout the agency and the federal government.”
Rosenmerkel brought to VA over two decades of experience working at the Department of the Treasury, including her most recent role as special assistant to the assistant secretary at Treasury’s Office of Economic Policy.
