The company said Thursday the contract, by far the largest deal ever secured by its Mission Technologies division, was revealed during HII’s third-quarter earnings call on Oct. 31.
The engineering and defense technologies provider will leverage its pool of experts on electronic warfare and electromagnetic spectrum for the project.
Six-time Wash100 Award winner Andy Green, the executive vice president of HII and president of HII’s Mission Technologies division, stated, “We have a team of subject matter experts with deep expertise in all aspects of electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare, and we are committed to staying a step ahead of our adversaries alongside our customers as the complexity of warfare changes.”
Previous HII Contracts With the U.S. Air Force
In August, the company’s mission technologies business was awarded a five-year, $209 million task order for development and sustainment services for the Air Force’s fighter and bomber weapons systems and subsystems.
The HII division also secured a contract from USAF in 2022 to conduct research, testing and assessment on EW and EM spectrum.
