Enterprise readiness provider Air, formerly Govini, has named Anuj Vohra as general counsel, the company said Thursday.
Vohra will lead the company in legal aspects of governance, compliance and government contracts, as the company works to align its internal operations with its continued growth across the defense and federal markets.
What Is Vohra’s Career Background?
Vohra arrives at Air with more than 20 years of legal experience centered on federal procurement law, government investigations and commercial litigation within the defense and technology industries.
He most recently spent over eight years as a partner in the government contracts practice at Crowell & Moring, where he represented government contractors in commercial disputes and handled bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He previously served as special counsel at Covington & Burling, guiding contractors through all phases of the federal procurement process.
Earlier in his career, Vohra spent nearly six years as a trial attorney with the Department of Justice, where he handled procurement protest and breach-of-contract litigation before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He began his legal career as an assistant corporation counsel for the city of Chicago’s Department of Law.
What Are the Organizational Changes at Air Alongside Vohra’s Arrival?
The hire comes as Air scales its Enterprise Readiness platform to serve a growing customer base spanning federal agencies and all branches of the military, under the direction of CEO Tara Murphy Dougherty. On July 14, Air announced it was establishing an office in Pittsburgh, increasing its workforce in the area by nearly 67%. Last month, Air appointed U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Tom Miller as a senior adviser to help boost aircraft sustainment and other air readiness initiatives of the company.
