BMNT Promotes Brian Miller to President, John Petkosek & Tim Donoghue to Directors

  • BMNT has created a president role and tapped longtime executive Brian Miller to lead the position
  • Miller will help drive the company’s expansion in defense, homeland security, space and health missions
  • Senior program managers John Petkosek and Tim Donoghue have joined BMNT’s leadership team as directors

BMNT has appointed Brian Miller as president, marking the first time the government innovation company has created the role in its 13-year history. The company also promoted senior program managers John Petkosek and Tim Donoghue to director, BMNT said Wednesday.

Who Is Brian Miller?

In his new role, Miller will report directly to CEO Pete Newell and help lead BMNT’s expansion in defense, homeland security, space and health missions while preserving the company’s small-team operating model.

Since joining BMNT in 2017, Miller has held multiple leadership roles focused on growth strategy, customer engagement and program execution. He previously worked as an adviser at Chartwell Strategy Group and Public Sphere and served on the staff of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

What Roles Will John Petkosek & Tim Donoghue Play at BMNT?

Petkosek and Donoghue will join current directors Steven Peterson and Susan Young in a four-member senior leadership team responsible for execution standards, operational coordination and cross-functional management as BMNT expands its federal mission portfolio.

Petkosek leads defense innovation initiatives, including the Hacking for Defense program, which connects university talent with national security challenges and helps transition promising teams into the defense industrial base. Donoghue oversees pilot and implementation programs supporting homeland security, sustainment and industrial base mobilization missions.

How Does This Fit Into BMNT’s Growth Strategy?

BMNT’s latest leadership changes build on broader expansion efforts in national security and federal markets, including the appointments of co-founder William Treseder as chief operating officer and Mark Peterson as chief financial officer to support growth in national security sectors, and former TSA Chief Innovation Officer Daniel McCoy as head of business development to help expand the company’s federal mission and innovation services portfolio.
