Pradeep Paruchuri, senior director of solutions engineering at UiPath, said agentic artificial intelligence could help government agencies improve efficiency by enabling systems to move from passive support roles to active task execution.
“Agentic AI shifts technology from being a spectator to being an actor,” Paruchuri wrote in an article published on Carahsoft.com. “Agentic AI is one of the first technologies that allows us to decouple efficient service delivery from headcount.”
What Are the 3 Key Considerations When Adopting Agentic AI?
Paruchuri outlined three non-negotiable considerations agencies should address when adopting agentic AI tools.
First, he said agencies should ensure transparency by maintaining detailed audit trails that capture each step an AI system takes, including the data it accesses and the logic behind its decisions.
Second, he said agencies must establish zero training agreements to ensure sensitive government information remains within secure agency environments when training a public model.
Third, he said agencies should use agentic orchestration to manage interactions between AI systems and human personnel rather than pursuing full autonomy. He noted that agencies can set confidence thresholds so that systems proceed when confidence is high and defer to human reviewers when confidence declines.
What Is Agentic Orchestration?
Paruchuri said agentic orchestration enables AI systems to coordinate and execute tasks across multiple systems rather than simply providing recommendations.
He wrote that agentic AI can move beyond simple task automation to handle multistep workflows, such as navigating procurement systems, verifying vendor data across databases and producing modification requests to support end-to-end execution.
“Through Agentic Orchestration, we merge robotic process automation with agentic AI to bridge the gap between thinking about a task and completing it,” Paruchuri stated.
How Does UiPath AI Trust Layer Work?
Paruchuri said UiPath’s AI Trust Layer is designed to enforce governance policies in real time as AI systems operate.
He wrote that the layer can identify and safeguard sensitive information, including personally identifiable data, before it leaves agency firewalls.
He added that the FedRAMP-authorized platform has helped agencies transition from pilot programs to production within weeks and is already in use across several agencies, including the Department of War, the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Agriculture.
