What Does the Contract Cover?
ASRC Federal said Monday work will be performed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska, the largest installation within Pacific Air Forces. ARCTEC Alaska, which has been involved with the program since 1994, will continue providing support for the base’s 15 remote long-range radar sites and two radio facilities, delivering specialized logistics and management services to ensure the necessary personnel, equipment and supplies are in place to fulfill mission requirements.
What Is the Alaska Radar System?
The Alaska Radar System is an early warning system developed during the Cold War to strengthen national security. It provides continuous surveillance support to the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, while also supplying civil aircraft data to the Federal Aviation Administration.
ASRC Federal President and CEO Jennifer Felix, a previous Wash100 Award winner, said the Alaska Radar System is “critical to maintaining our sovereign air space and we are proud to be entrusted with supporting the safety and security of our Nation. This follow-on contract demonstrates our ability to consistently deliver critical mission services in complex environments.”
