HII Appoints Fatina Brave as Ingalls Shipbuilding VP

HII has named Fatina Brave as vice president of infrastructure and sustainability at its Ingalls Shipbuilding division, placing a longtime shipyard leader in charge of key operational support functions tied to facilities, safety and maintenance.

The company said Thursday that Brave succeeds Eric Crooker, who has moved into the role of vice president of program management. Crooker replaces George Nungesser, who is set to retire in early February after 37 years with Ingalls.

Brave will report to Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Blanchette.

What Will Fatina Brave Oversee in Her New Role?

Ingalls said Brave will oversee environmental, health, safety, security, facilities and maintenance operations across the Pascagoula, Mississippi, shipyard. Her responsibilities include supporting operational efficiency, shipbuilder well-being, and the adoption of new technologies and equipment within the yard.

Blanchette said Brave brings a combination of military service and internal leadership experience that positions her to take on the infrastructure and sustainability portfolio. “Her commitment to developing talent and driving organizational growth underscores a career built on service, making her ideally suited to succeed Eric and further the infrastructure and operational strategies at Ingalls,” Blanchette added.

Who Is Fatina Brave?

Brave’s career at HII spans over a decade of growth in human resources and administration, including her recent tenure as director of talent acquisition and workforce development.

The U.S. Air Force veteran holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology from William Carey University.
