Sabel Systems has named John Cunningham as chief growth officer, bringing more than three decades of experience in advanced technology markets, including extended reality, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
The company announced the leadership move in a LinkedIn post on Monday, noting that Cunningham’s track record of driving expansion across defense and emerging technology sectors will support the company’s business growth.
Sabel CEO Shawn Chambliss-Purvis, a four-time Wash100 Award recipient, said Cunningham’s leadership will be instrumental in creating “meaningful impact across the market.”
Who Is Josh Cunningham?
Before joining Sabel, Cunningham served as president of Virtualware and founded Spatial Synergy, a consulting firm focused on spatial computing technologies.
Earlier in his career, Cunningham established and led Unity Technologies’ government and aerospace business, became the chief revenue officer at The DiSTI Corp. and held leadership roles at Carnegie Mellon University; Motorola Solutions; Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company; and Getronics. He began his career as a communications and special operations officer in the U.S. Army.
The executive currently holds board positions with Virtuix and eXpanded eXistence.
A graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Cunningham earned his master’s degree in technology management from the University of Phoenix.
