Boeing said Monday the all-cash transaction enables it to strengthen its capital structure and focus on its core business, including its retained digital services portfolio, which delivers fleet operations, maintenance, diagnostics and repair capabilities to defense and commercial customers.
Brad Surak, who previously led Boeing’s digital aviation solutions business, will serve as CEO of Jeppesen ForeFlight.
“Backed by 90 years of Jeppesen’s gold-standard data and ForeFlight’s relentless spirit of exploration, this combination is building the most unified, intuitive platform in aviation,” said Surak.
The chief executive stated that artificial intelligence is the guiding force behind Jeppesen ForeFlight’s multiyear roadmap of integrated platforms.
“Jeppesen ForeFlight is bringing AI to aviation, from the flight deck to the operations control center driving increased operational efficiency and bolstering safety,” Surak added.
The company will serve military, general aviation, commercial and business customers, offering integrated digital platforms across flight planning, dispatch and crew management.
