CACI International has appointed Ricardo Gonzalez, an aerospace and defense executive, as vice president of optical and photonics division.
In a LinkedIn post published Tuesday, Gonzalez said he looks forward to working with the team, building strong customer relationships and driving operational excellence as CACI continues its work in optical and photonic systems.
“It’s an incredible time to be leading in this field — where advances in optical communications, sensing, and precision electro-optical systems are transforming how we support critical national defense and space missions,” he added.
Accelerating Innovation in Optical Systems
In this capacity, Gonzalez will oversee profit-and-loss activities for the division and drive strategic growth. He will work with teams of scientists and engineers to accelerate innovation and advance optical technologies from prototype to production while fostering partnerships with key customers and across CACI to support long-term growth.
Who Is Ricardo Gonzalez?
According to his profile on the professional networking site, Gonzalez has experience in both public and private equity environments, supporting enterprise growth through mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and operational management.
Prior to CACI, Gonzalez was chief transformation officer at Frontgrade Technologies, where he also served as senior VP of microelectronics.
His industry career included time as SVP of microelectronics at CAES; senior director of space systems at BAE Systems Inc.; and design engineer for satellite communications systems at Lockheed Martin.
The CACI executive spent five years at the Department of Defense as a project leader within CECOM Night Vision Labs.
Gonzalez has a master’s degree in electrical, electronics and communications engineering from the Catholic University of America.
