The Department of Defense said Monday the cost-plus-fixed-fee, which was not subject to competition, covers the procurement of advanced commercial technologies to build resilient, interoperable and secure information capabilities that leverage high bandwidth and low-latency data rates. The initial Minimum Viable Products of the Providence Distributed Battle Management Command and Control System are intended to support DOD use cases. This new capability will be integrated into both manned and unmanned systems.
Northrop will perform work in various locations in and outside the U.S., including Patuxent River, Maryland; Melbourne, Florida; Fallon, California; Shreveport, Louisiana; Hickman, Hawaii; Anchorage, Alaska; and Guam, among others. The contract is expected to run through March 2028.
