Siemens Secures $99.3M Air Force Contract for Switchgear Replacement Initiative

Siemens Industry has booked a $99.3 million requirements, indefinite-delivery contract from the U.S. Air Force for the Switchgear Replacement Effort.

Switchgear Replacement Effort Contact Scope, Details

The Buffalo Grove, Illinois-based Siemens business unit will be tasked with providing the mission needs of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex and its associated units distributed across multiple locations, the Department of Defense said Thursday. The contract is intended to facilitate the procurement of iso-phase gas-insulated switchgear with a valid original equipment manufacturer warranty.

The contract, awarded through sole source acquisition, is scheduled for completion by July 23, 2030. The Air Force Test Center at the Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee will not allocate funds at the time of the award.
