John Heneghan, president of ECS, received the 2025 Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson.
The seasoned executive was recognized with his fourth Wash100 honor for advocating for the adoption of emerging technologies within the federal sector, particularly in healthcare and national security.
“John has led ECS to incredible heights and maintained that organizational success for many years now. Under his leadership, ECS was awarded a massive half-a-billion-dollar contract with CISA, proving once again that the company is a key player in federal cybersecurity,” said Garrettson, founder of the Wash100 Award.
“Beyond the wins, John has built a culture of collaboration, forging partnerships with NSA, Cyware, C3 AI and others to drive innovation forward. With ECS’ deep expertise in AI, cloud, cybersecurity and IT modernization—plus a recent GSA contract focused on government efficiency—they’re primed for this moment. With John at the helm, we know they’ll continue to lead the way,” continued Garrettson.
Leading Company Growth Through Technological Advancements
Heneghan spearheaded the company’s expansion in the federal sector by advancing the utilization of emerging technologies such as data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital modernization, security operations and zero-trust security. Under his leadership, ECS has strengthened its position as a major player in national defense, homeland security, intelligence and public health.
Under his leadership, the ASGN subsidiary formed and expanded strategic partnerships with Cyware, C3 AI and SAS. These collaborations enhanced the company’s cybersecurity, intelligence and health AI portfolio.
ECS also secured significant contracts in 2024, including a potential five-year, $1.1 billion blanket purchase agreement from the National Institutes of Health for IT support services for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the potential six-year, $528 million task order from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to support the creation of a comprehensive data integration system for the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program Office. The company was also named a prime contractor under the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus multi-award contract, enabling it to receive awards from federal customers.
Congratulations to John Heneghan and the ECS team for another Wash100 win!
