CFM International, a General Electric-Safran joint venture, has secured a potential $2.85 billion contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide F108 military aircraft engine supplies for the U.S. Air Force and Navy.
F108 Engine Supplies Contract Scope
The Department of Defense said Tuesday the firm-fixed-price, requirements-type contract was awarded as a sole-source acquisition. It has a four-year, four-month base contract with an additional five-year option that will extend the period of performance through Oct. 31, 2029.
The DLA Aviation, located in Richmond, Virginia, will provide the West Chester, Ohio-based company with funding allocated from fiscal years 2025 through 2030 defense appropriated funds and working capital funds.
Previous Contract
The DLA awarded a similar contract to CFM in 2017. The GE-Safran joint venture booked the potential $2 billion contract for the procurement of F108 engine replenishment spare parts. The deal included nine base months, a four-year option and another three-year option.
