Griffin brings to the role over 35 years of experience leading nuclear operations, multi-million-dollar research and development programs, and technology initiatives.
The executive previously served as senior vice president for plutonium disposition operations and programs at SRNS. He also held leadership positions at the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management.
Earlier in his career, Griffin worked at the Savannah River National Laboratory, a DOE facility at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina.
Jeffrey Griffin’s Responsibilities
The SRNS is a joint venture between Fluor and HII Newport News Nuclear. It was established to manage and operate the SRS, which is one of DOE’s largest production sites.
As president and CEO of SRNS, Griffin will be in charge of a team that supports the SRS and oversees the execution of environmental cleanup and protection, nuclear materials storage and disposition, and other activities.
The SRNS is also responsible for the operations of the only U.S. tritium plant and the construction of the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility.
