He brings to the technical and engineering services contractor nearly three decades of experience in digital transformation, cybersecurity program development and implementation, and organizational change.

Prior to Amentum, Shier was VP and CISO at information security company Optiv, where he led cybersecurity strategy and security program implementation efforts.
The retired U.S. Air Force veteran spent nearly five years at Lockheed Martin as cybersecurity director.
He previously worked at Boeing as a cybersecurity specialist.
Shier’s military career included time as a security forces flight chief, cybersecurity test lead and IT operations manager. He served as a cyber team lead at the Defense Security Service, now known as the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.
The University of Phoenix IT graduate has a master’s degree in cybersecurity from Colorado Technical University.
