The National Institutes of Health has awarded 17 companies positions on the third iteration of the potential five-year, $1 billion Public Information and Communication Services, or PICS, contract.
According to an award notice published Tuesday, the NIH Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations competed the multiple-award PICS III indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract as a total small business set-aside program.

What Is PICS III?
The contract vehicle seeks to help NIH and its partner agencies at the Department of Health and Human Services procure communication, evaluation and social marketing services.
According to the statement of work, principal task areas include communications research; news media and operations support; audience outreach and promotion; materials development; graphic design; foreign language translation and interpretation; information and referrals; exhibit development, design, production, storage and transport; meeting, conference and event support; and IT requirements.
In December 2023, NIH issued a solicitation for the contract.
