Saif Rahman, CEO and co-founder of Quzara, said defense industrial base organizations looking to comply with the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification framework should focus on having security visibility through auditing, monitoring and generating security logs to better understand the vulnerabilities they face.
In an article published on Carahsoft.com, Rahman discussed the need to establish a security operations center capability, perform cyberthreat hunting initiatives and field automation and analytics tools to ensure the security of controlled unclassified information and infrastructure.
The chief executive cited how tools like Quzara Cybertorch could help DIB organizations protect systems from security threats through incident response, logging, auditing and account monitoring.
Rahman said Quzara Cybertorch works to help organizations integrate defense-in-depth measures into their cybersecurity framework and gain insights into vulnerabilities.
The co-founder noted how the company supports organizations through its professional advisory services division and SOC-as-a-service/managed extended detection and response offering, which has FedRAMP High Ready certification.
Rahman highlighted the need for defense contractors looking to achieve CMMC compliance to work with security service providers that take a proactive approach to cybersecurity and have a robust compliance background.
“Establishing trust in a security provider is paramount for any organization because it directly influences the trust built with the end customer, particularly in the case of the Defense Department,” he added.
