Eric Chewning, a former senior official at the Department of Defense and partner at McKinsey & Company, has been appointed executive vice president of strategy and development at HII (NYSE: HII).
The two-decade national security market veteran will be responsible for overseeing corporate strategy, identifying growth opportunities and managing cross-division collaboration in his EVP role, HII said Monday.
Chewning most recently served as co-lead for McKinsey’s aerospace and defense practice in the Americas.
From 2019 to 2020, Chewning was chief of staff to the DOD secretary and advised senior department leaders on matters related to policy, finance and workforce.
The former U.S. Army military intelligence officer also served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for industrial policy.
