Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (formerly Consumer Electronics Association), was honored in 1999 with the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s Technology Good Scout Award.
Shapiro leads the trade group that represents more than 2,200 companies across the consumer tech industry, hosts the annual CES event and promotes innovation to policymakers.
He has served more than three decades at the association and previously served on the board of visitors at George Mason University.
