L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has secured a pair of orders worth $235 million combined to manufacture two-channel tactical radio systems for the U.S. Army.
The branch seeks to procure more than 165,000 HMS devices through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle.
L3Harris’ AN/PRC-163 system is software-defined and equipped with mobile ad hoc network technologies to enable simultaneous multi-channel communications.
The AN/PRC-158 model uses an integrated Mobile User Objective System-capable hardware for military satellite communications connectivity.
“The radios we will deliver under these two orders provide our soldiers with a resilient network, enabling integrated soldier systems and vehicular on-the-move communications,” said Dana Mehnert, president of the communication systems segment at L3Harris.
