Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a five-year, $213.3 million contract from the U.S. Navy to help modernize an F-35 data center located at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
Under the contract, Lockheed will also establish a production and test line for mission data in support of Australian and British F-35 air vehicles.
The Pentagon said that initial obligated funds amounting to $53.3 million will come from the Joint Strike Fighter program’s non-DOD participant account.
Sixty-five percent of contract work will occur in Eglin, Florida, and the remaining 35 percent will be performed at a company facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
