His appointment is effective Aug. 1 and he will be responsible for overseeing company-wide business functions including financial strategy, business planning, investor relations and audit operations, Applied Energetics said Monday.
Donaghey was named the first member of board of directors for the Tucson, Arizona-headquartered directed-energy weapon maker in April 2019.
Before he joined SAIC, Donaghey was VP of corporate strategy and development at KeyW and a senior research analyst at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Capital Markets.
He previously served in the U.S. Navy and provided scientific and technical analysis support for the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Missile and Space Intelligence Center.
Gregory Quarles, president and CEO at Applied Energetics, said Donaghey’s broad experience leading financial management and strategic planning strategies for global defense and security organizations makes him the ideal executive to hold the CFO and COO positions.
