Jacobs (NYSE: J) has won a potential 10-year, $3.9 billion contract to provide engineering and scientific products and technical services to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Texas.
The JETS II contract also includes support for the planetary mission, physical science research and astromaterial curation functions under the center’s Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Directorate, the space agency said Friday.
Work is scheduled to begin Oct. 1 and NASA said the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a five-year base value of $1.8 billion.
The award includes a pair of two-year option periods and an additional one-year option that would extend work through 2032.
Jacobs is the incumbent contractor on the first JETS contract. The Dallas-based company reported in May 2020 that the award value increased to $1.93 billion after NASA exercised an option worth $478.4 million at the time.
