Northrop Unit to Support Air Force Threat Simulator Development Under $75M Contract

A Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) business unit has received a $75 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force Test Center further develop two threat environment simulation systems.

Amherst Systems will support the Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulator and the Next Generation Electronic Environment Generator programs through March 2027, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The 722nd Test Squadron’s Benefield Anechoic Facility at Edwards AF Base in California will use the threat generation systems.

Work under the sole-source indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will take place at a contractor facility in Buffalo, New York.

USAF is obligating $867,254 in research and development funds for fiscal 2022 at the time of award.
