Fincantieri Marine Systems North America will assign technicians and provide program management support to the service branch’s planned corrective and maintenance efforts for MCM-1 vessels, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Naval Supply Systems Command awarded the contract on a sole-source basis and the service branch will obligate $1.8 million in operation and maintenance funds that will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
The contract has a base period of performance valued at $14.3 million and includes four option years that will push the completion date to March 2027 if exercised.
Work will be performed in Manama, Bahrain, and Sasebo, Japan.
