Enlightenment Capital has purchased Boecore, a provider of technology platforms in space, hypersonics, strategic deterrent and missile defense sectors, for an undisclosed sum.
Colorado-based Boecore provides software, cybersecurity and network and systems engineering support to federal government and military customers, the companies said in a joint release published Tuesday.
“The pace of technological change and emerging threats in the space domain require continuous innovation, anticipation, and investment,” said Devin Talbott, managing partner of Enlightenment Capital.
“Boecore will serve as a foundation for growth, both organic and through acquisition, as we work to build off the Company’s technical leadership and commitment to the customers’ mission and establish a premium space and strategic defense solutions company,” Talbott added.
Boecore’s capabilities include command and control, next-gen training platforms, gamification, visualization, specialized engineering and modeling and simulation. The U.S. Space Force, Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Air Force are among the company’s clients.
Kathy Boe, founder and CEO of Boecore, will sit on the company’s board of directors and serve as a strategic adviser. She will retain a minority stake in Boecore.
Tom Dickson, who has been with Boecore since 2004, will oversee the company as president.
Dickson said the transaction strengthens Boecore’s capacity to integrate new technologies, seek more contract opportunities and further develop and field space and missile defense visualization, planning and gamification platforms and cyber readiness capabilities.
