Peraton has received a potential four-year, $81 million task order to provide background investigation services for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The company’s team of investigators will collect information on federal applicants and employees and consolidate data into an investigation report to help the Department of Homeland Security’s USCIS decide on an individual’s employment and eligibility for a security clearance, Peraton said Wednesday.
The Herndon, Virginia-based technology services contractor will also conduct automated checks of employees’ security-relevant data under the Trusted Workforce 2.0 framework.
“Our nation’s security is underpinned by the thousands of individuals who support critical government programs and access classified information,” said Jeff Bohling, president of the defense solutions sector at Peraton.
“Peraton’s continued partnership with DHS ensures that USCIS, in executing its mission to manage the government’s immigration system, will hire and continuously screen employees and contractors who meet all requirements for stability, trustworthiness, reliability, and judgment,” added Bohling.
Peraton, which has been providing security background investigation support to 11 other federal programs, will perform work through 2026 should USCIS exercise all option periods within the task order.
