Thomas Whayne, formerly the chief financial officer of broadband company OneWeb, has been added to the C-level executive team at Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) where he will serve as chief strategy officer.
The executive will help Maxar drive growth by supporting the company’s corporate strategy and development, strategic investments and mergers and acquisitions, Maxar said Monday.
“Thomas has deep expertise in space-based technologies and insight into growth opportunities ahead,” commented Dan Jablonsky, president and CEO at Maxar.
At OneWeb, Whayne led its capital raising efforts to support the development of a low Earth orbit satellite constellation, which globally provides broadband access. His efforts as CFO also helped the company raise over $3 billion of capital.
His career of over two decades includes work with various investment banking firms, such as Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston.
