BAE-SNC Team to Develop Sensor Architecture for Air Force

A team of BAE Systems and Sierra Nevada Corp. has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to design an open architecture technology intended for signals intelligence collection and analysis.

Both companies aim to develop a prototype that will work to detect, identify and track radio frequency emissions as part of USAF’s Global High-altitude Open-system Sensor Technology program, BAE said Tuesday.

The GHOST system will be developed to analyze electronic signals and operators gain insight into their adversarial activity.

David Logan, vice president and general manager of C4ISR systems at BAE, said the company designed a SIGINT technology offering in collaboration with its customer community to support the military branch’s counter-threat operations.
