Broadtree Partners has purchased Washington, D.C.-based professional services company Sayres and Associates in a strategy to reach the defense and national security markets.
The acquisition makes Sayres the 12th portfolio company and fourth GovCon-focused investment of Broadtree, the private equity firm said Monday.
Founded in 2001, Sayres initially focused on supporting U.S. Navy shipbuilding programs and eventually grew its offerings to cover command, control, communications, computers and intelligence, fleet training and industrial security services for the national security sector.
Joel Willett, president and CEO of Sayres, said the company aims to create value for customers through its partnership with Broadtree and gain new clients within the national security area.
The government services provider’s senior leadership team includes Kevin Darnell, president of naval systems; Steve Lorentzen, president of maritime operations; and Hank Miranda, senior vice president of intelligence and security.
