LexisNexis Special Services has been selected as one of the prime vendors on a potential five-year, $1.21 billion blanket purchase agreement to perform credential and identity verification work for the Department of Labor, GovCon Wire has learned.
DOL is seeking contractor support through the multiple-award BPA to prevent fraudulent activity and facilitate the equitable distribution of unemployment insurance benefits in accordance with the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
“Unemployment fraud has become an epidemic of its own and state UI agencies need a trusted partner with decades of experience to leverage risk-based digital identity verification tools that work equitably and seamlessly,” said Haywood Talcove, CEO, government, LexisNexis Risk Solutions and LexisNexis Special Services, told GovCon Wire.
Talcove, a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, noted that the company’s platforms help stop over $1 billion in fraudulent payments on a weekly basis and transform data into actionable insights for users.
“At LexisNexis, we consider it an honor to put our innovation and research to work to assist government agencies to prevent fraud and get critical, life-saving benefits to the American people.”
Digital identity verification, data protection and sharing, reporting, performance, scalability and availability and maintenance support including software patches, updates and fixes and call center support for all login, identity proofing and multiple authentication help desk tickets are some of the objectives of the project.
The ordering period is scheduled to conclude by July 14, 2026.
