The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded Comcast’s (Nasdaq: CMCSA) government services business a potential 10-year, $71.6 million contract to replace legacy multiplexing-based circuits and connect mission partners to the Department of Defense Information Network as part of work in Region 5 of the Commercial Ethernet Gateway program.
The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization launched a competitive solicitation and received four proposals for the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The single-award IDIQ contract has a base period of six years and two option terms of two years each. Work is expected to kick off this June 30 and run through June 29, 2031, should the agency exercise all options.
The company will perform work in Reston, Virginia, and government locations in Nevada and California.
DISA will finance the contract’s minimum guarantee of $500 using operations and maintenance funds for fiscal 2021.
