The Department of Energy has started its bid solicitation process for a potential 10-year, $3 billion contract for management and operation services at a radioactive waste disposal facility near Carlsbad, New Mexico.
DOE said Thursday it will conduct a full and open competition for the cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Waste Isolation Pilot Plant M&O contract with a four-year base period and six one-year options.
Proposals are due July 19, according to the official notice to prospective offerors. WIPP services also include centralized characterization project support, transportation, testing and program operations.
