Army Plans Vehicle Protection Tech Project via National Advanced Mobility Consortium

The Army Contracting Command plans to issue a task request for vehicle protection system prototyping work under an other transaction agreement with the National Advanced Mobility Consortium.

A special notice posted Monday on SAM says the proposed effort will explore adaptive and collaborative approaches to augment the Department of Defense’s VPS technologies.

The potential four-year project will include the application of active, passive and reactive tools for vehicle survivability and will offer subsystem developers the chance to provide input on VPS prototype efforts.

ACC and NAMC originally signed an agreement in September 2017 to carry out research and development of ground vehicle systems.

The GVS OTA has a $5 billion ceiling value and the agreement’s objective areas include autonomy, collaboration, external systems, fuels, mobility, architecture, security and modularity, according to the consortium.
