AAR (NYSE: AIR) has appointed Ellen Lord, former undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense, to the aviation services provider’s board of directors.
Lord, a four-time recipient of the Wash100 Award, oversaw the Pentagon’s contracting, procurement, developmental testing, logistics and materiel-related functions during her tenure as an undersecretary, AAR said Friday.
Her responsibilities at DOD also covered oversight for industrial defense base and acquisition workforce matters.
Before her appointment at the department, Lord led Textron‘s (NYSE: TXT) systems subsidiary as president and CEO from October 2012 to June 2017.
She previously served as vice chair of the National Defense Industrial Association and held board seats at the U.S. Naval Institute, the Defense Technology Initiative and the U.S. India Business Council.
