The Department of the Air Force wants to procure equipment and services needed to protect air bases within U.S. Africa Command and U.S. European Command areas of responsibility through a potential $953M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
A solicitation notice posted Wednesday says the department is seeking potential contractors to operate, maintain and integrate sensors, kinetic weapons, directed energy systems and emerging technologies for the Air Base Air Defense program.
The initiative for U.S. Air Forces in Europe will cover three phases for development support to the Ramstein Air Defense Systems Integration Laboratory; air defense systems and operations at Ramstein Air Base; and ABAD for additional bases within EUCOM/AFRICOM AOR.
The contract is designed to provide USAFE-AFAFRICA cross-domain systems that could increase deterrence and engagement, survivability and security and defense posture at base locations where the geographic combatant commands operate.
USAF also expected the sought platforms to support interoperability of systems being used by U.S. military and allies.
Interested parties can submit proposals through Jan. 22.
