Harper Construction has won a potential $99.2M task order from the U.S. Navy to design and build a facility in China Lake, California, for integrating mission systems.
The branch will merge functions in some Naval Air Weapons Station buildings that suffered damage last year from earthquakes into the future Michelson Mission Systems Integration Laboratory, the Department of Defense said Friday.
DoD noted the new building will support research, development, test and evaluation efforts.
Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest received four proposals for the project and obligated $96.5M at the time of award from the branch's fiscal 2020 military construction funds.
The award includes options for the provision of warranty services, physical and electronic security equipment, furniture and fixtures.
Harper is expected to complete work by November 2022.
