Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has landed a potential five-year, $325 million contract to repair a forward-looking infrared targeting pod used on the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 Hornet jets.
Naval Supply Systems Command awarded the firm-fixed-price contract through a sole-source acquisition process and will obligate $54.5 million in annual working capital funds at the time of award, the Department of Defense (DoD) said Tuesday.
Fifty-nine percent of work will take place in McKinney, Texas, and the remaining 41 percent will occur in Jacksonville, Fla. DoD expects the system repairs to be finished by May 2025.
