Energy services firmNoresco has received a 21-year, $169.3M task order to update and maintain infrastructure at the U.S. Navys submarine base in Groton, Conn. to help the service branch achieve its energy efficiency goals.
The firm-fixed-price task order covers construction, refurbishment, maintenance and operation of infrastructure such as energy control systems, microgrids, heat and steam distribution systems and light fixtures at Naval Submarine Base New London, the Department of Defensesaid Friday.
The Navy received five bids for the task order, which falls under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract awarded by the Department of Energy. Noresco will use its private funds throughout the projects 36-month implementation phase.
Work under the task order will run through December 2040.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center in Port Hueneme, Calif., is the contracting activity for the task order.
Noresco is headquartered in Westborough, Mass., and offers a range of services encompassing energy infrastructure modernization, sustainability consulting and program development to support customers in the public and private sectors.
