SEAKR Engineering has received a contract to develop a processing system for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agencys Blackjack Proliferated Low Earth Orbit Demonstration program.
The companys Pit Boss platform for the Blackjack program is an on-board processor designed to provide processing capability in space using off-the-shelf electronics, artificial intelligence, autonomous operations, on-orbit technologies and machine learning, SEAKR said Thursday.
DARPAs Blackjack initiative seeks to integrate commercial technologies into a constellation of small military satellites. The Blackjack Pit Boss program seeks to acquire target localization and persistent tracking data using a constellation of proliferated LEO satellites and facilitate the dissemination of critical information to tactical users worldwide, according to a broad agency announcement.
The companies involved in SEAKRs Pit Boss project are Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), NKrypt, Kythera Space Solutions, Advanced Solutions and Applied Technology Associates.
Established in 1982, SEAKR Engineering designs and produces processors, payloads, manned space hardware, electronics and command and data handling systems for space applications.
