The National Institute of Standards and Technology is looking for sources of technology platforms and technical services that can help NIST develop guidance for securing internet-of-things devices used across the energy sector.
According to a document issued by NIST, participants in the Cooperative Research and Development Agreement will work to help the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence establish a reference architecture for protecting industrial IoT networks used for distributed energy resource operations.
As part of the initiative, interested parties must submit a sample concept that deploys open-source or commercially available cybersecurity capabilities such as machine learning and predictive analytics-based technologies, information visualization systems, data integrity technologies, authentication platforms, network monitoring tools and sensor systems.
