Leonardo DRS has received a contract from the U.S. Army to integrate and demonstrate an on-board vehicle power system for a family of medium tactical vehicles with the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system.
The Army and MDA will test the potential of OBVP technology to deliver electrical energy to THAAD FMTV demonstrators, the company said Friday.
OBVP is designed to generate up to 55 kilowatts of power in a moving vehicle and up to 120kW when stationary.
