Albert Al Murray, assistant section chief of the Cyber Criminal Section for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will be featured as a keynote speaker during the Potomac Officers Clubs 2019 Cybersecurity Summit on May 8th.
At the event, GovCon leaders from the public and private sector will discuss cyber resiliency and how to collaborate effectively on new cyber programs, cyber automation, shared initiatives and emerging technologies in the federal market.
Murray joined the FBI as a special agent and was assigned to the New York Division in 2005. He investigated intellectual property rights, internet fraud and computer intrusion. He was assigned to the Hurricane Katrina task force and investigated fraud against the government in Hattiesburg, MS in 2006.
Murray received the FBI Directors Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigation in 2010. He became supervisory special agent in New Yorks Cyber Branch in 2013, where he supervised financially-motivated and emerging-threat national security computer intrusions. Murray was promoted to his current role in 2016 and oversees all cyber-criminal investigations for the FBI.
Prior to joining the FBI, Murray served as a corporate investigations consultant with a very large accounting firm for a decade. He implemented the technical solution for the September 11th Victims Compensations Fund and served on a team which implemented technical solutions for the Swiss Bank Jewish Holocaust settlement.
