NTT Data Services has purchased a Cognosante consulting practice that supports state and local agencies in their health information technology implementation projects.Bob Pryor
This acquisition is the latest in our ongoing strategy of growth by strategic acquisitions that augment our specialized industry expertise and geographical presence, NTT Data Services CEO Bob Pryor said in a statement published Monday.
Pryor added the transaction expands the companys presence in the health and human services market and further enhances efforts to support public sector clients.
Cognosante Consulting provides IT planning, strategy, project management and quality assurance services for state agencies in support of health IT and business transformation initiatives.
Jim Joyce, general manager of Cognosante Consulting, will continue to oversee the business and serve as a senior vice president at NTT DATA Services.
The consulting practice will operate as part of NTT Data Services with a focus on project management, client IT strategy, quality assurance and independent verification and validation services.
The transaction provides NTT Data Services access to over 250 consulting resources and intellectual property supporting IT modernization efforts, including Medicaid-related programs in more than 20 states.
