The U.S. Navy has selected five companies to provide design-build construction services within Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s Southeast area of responsibility under a potential five-year, $240M contract.
NAVFAC received 19 proposals for the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via a competitive procurement on the Navy’s e-commerce portal, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Contractors will vie for task orders to support general building type projects that include industrial, airfield, aircraft hangar, aircraft traffic control, infrastructure, administrative, training, dormitory and community support facilities.
The NAVFAC SE region covers Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
DoD noted the contract has a five-year base period and work is scheduled to conclude by February 2024.
