Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has secured a one-year, $187.6 million contract to provide engineering and advance planning services for a refueling complex overhaul effort on the USS John C. Stennis ship.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the company firm will offer preparation services such as material forecasting, long lead time material procurement and purchase order, and long lead time and drawing development for the RCOH program.
Huntington Ingalls will perform the task through July 2019.
The RCOH project will begin in January 2021.
Chris Minder, vice president of in-service aircraft carrier programs at HII’s Newport News shipbuilding division, said in a statement published Friday that preparing for RCOH is critical in the completion of an engineering and construction project such as that for the USS John C. Stennis.
