American Systemshas bought McLean, Va.-based engineering and technical services contractor DDL OMNI Engineering for an undisclosed sum.
Chantilly, Va.-based American Systems said Monday it will integrate DDL OMNI into its professional and customs solutions business, led by Hyuk Byun, and absorb approximately 250 employees as part of the deal.
Acquisitions are an important element of our growth strategy, and we work hard to ensure that we select companies that are a good fit for us, both strategically and culturally, said Peter Smith, president and CEO of American Systems and a three-time Wash100 recipient.
Speaking with ExecutiveBiz Tuesday, Smith elaborated, “What struck me most about DDL OMNI was their passion and commitment to excellence. It was evident in every interaction we had, both with their employees and their customers.
DDL OMNI offers alteration design and installation services; environmental services; materials and structures engineering; program and strategic management; technical documentation; and training and simulation services to the federal sector. It also helps customers develop sensors, electronics, software and web-based platforms.
Teneo Capital represented DDL OMNI on the transaction that officially closed Aug. 3.
