Mercury Acquires Germane to Expand Rugged Server, C2I Portfolio

Mercury Systems (Nasdaq: MRCY) has acquired Germane Systems for approximately $45 million cash in a move to grow the former’s portfolio of rugged servers and command, control and information processing technologies.

The purchase price is subject to working capital and debt adjustments and Mercury financed the transaction with funds from a revolving credit facility, the company said Tuesday.

Chantilly, Va.-based Germane designed its products to function in environments where U.S. and international defense customers perform missions.

The deal comes five months after Mercury completed its $180 million cash purchase of rugged computing system manufacturer Themis Computer.

Mark Aslett, president and CEO of Mercury, said the company seeks to grow its presence in the command, control, communication, computers and intelligence market by combining Germane with Themis.
