Subsidiaries of BAE Systems, General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) have received contract modifications worth a combined $237.7 million to maintain, repair and update surface combatants that are visiting or stationed at a U.S. Navy base in San Diego.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the modifications exercise option year two under a previous indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract awarded to BAEs San Diego Ship Repair unit, HIIs Continental Maritime of San Diego subsidiary and General Dynamics NASSCO business.
Work will run through March 2019 and also include support for Chief of Naval Operations availabilities of San Diego-homeported guided missile destroyers and cruisers in San Diego.
The Navy also issued $120.5 million in contract modifications to the three contractors last year.
